What Are Clear Aligners?
What Are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are modern orthodontic solutions designed to straighten teeth without the need for traditional metal braces. Unlike brackets and wires, aligners are transparent, custom-made trays that fit comfortably over your teeth, offering a discreet and aesthetically pleasing alternative for smile correction.
Manufactured using medical grade thermoplastic materials, our aligners are smooth, durable, and designed to minimize irritation to the gums and cheeks. Their nearly invisible appearance allows patients to smile confidently throughout their treatment journey.
In-House vs. Outsourced Aligners
Why Our In-House Production Makes the Difference
Clear aligner systems can be manufactured either through outsourced third-party providers or produced internally using an in-house digital workflow. At our facility, we operate a fully integrated in-house aligner production system, allowing us to maintain complete control over design, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
Outsourced Aligner Production
In outsourced systems, clinical records and digital scans are sent to an external aligner company. The third-party designs, manufactures, and ships the aligners back to the clinic.
Limitations of Outsourcing:
- Longer turnaround times
- Limited flexibility for immediate design changes
- Indirect communication between clinician and manufacturer
- Higher per-case production costs
- Reduced control over quality monitoring
Our In-House Aligner Production System
We proudly operate a complete in-house aligner manufacturing workflow, ensuring precision, efficiency, and full clinical collaboration at every stage.
Our production process utilizes the Graphy 3D Printer for high-accuracy direct 3D printing. Treatment design and staging are completed using advanced CAD platforms such as NEMO and Direct Aligner Design (DAD).
For fabrication, we use Graphy Resin TA28, a high-performance shape-memory resin engineered specifically for direct 3D-printed clear aligners. This material ensures optimal flexibility, durability, and controlled force delivery for predictable tooth movement.
In addition to the main printer, we utilize several advanced machines throughout our workflow, including;
- Tera Harz Cure
This innovative UV curing device is recognized as the world’s first to achieve 100% polymerization conversion of materials
The system is particularly effective for crown and bridge (C&B) work, denture fabrication, and other dental and medical applications. It also improves casting surface quality, ensuring precise final metal crown alignment. Nitrogen curing is essential for dental and medical products to eliminate surface tackiness and residual polymers. Compared to conventional nitrogen curing units connected to external nitrogen tanks, the Tera Harz Cure system offers greater economic efficiency, operational convenience, and overall performance.
- Tera Harz Spinner (Centrifuge)
Enhanced resin removal efficiency through a powerful and quiet rotary surrounds internal heating system, Fast and easy operation simultaneously mounts up to 16 SMAs safe and smooth stopping rotary motion, offering perfect control
There are advantages of In-House Production:
- Faster Treatment Initiation
Because production is managed internally, we significantly reduce turnaround times and can begin treatment sooner.
- Complete Design Control
We maintain full oversight of digital treatment planning, allowing immediate modifications and refinements when needed.
- Enhanced Customization
Every aligner is tailored precisely to the patient’s clinical requirements with greater flexibility in staging and adjustments.
- Strict Quality Assurance
Our internal quality control protocols ensure consistency, accuracy, and material integrity at every stage of production.
- Greater Efficiency & Cost Optimization
By eliminating third-party manufacturing dependencies, we improve operational efficiency and long-term cost effectiveness.
Commitment to Precision and Innovation
Our fully integrated in-house aligner production system reflects our commitment to technological excellence, clinical precision, and patient-focused solutions. By controlling the entire workflow from digital planning to final fabrication. We ensure reliable, high-quality, and efficient orthodontic outcomes.
Clinical Experience in Dental Implant Surgery Assistance
As a Dental Assistant during a dental implant procedure, I gained valuable hands-on clinical and surgical experience in implant dentistry.
During the procedure, I was responsible for preparing the surgical room by ensuring all instruments were properly sterilized and arranged, including the implant kit, surgical drills, handpieces, irrigation system, and suturing materials. I assisted the dentist by maintaining a strict sterile field, providing high-volume suction, passing instruments accurately, and ensuring the patient remained comfortable throughout the surgery.
Another skill I developed was learning how to properly wear an operating gown and follow surgical aseptic protocols. I gained experience in correct surgical hand-washing techniques, wearing sterile gloves, and donning the operating gown without contaminating the sterile surface. Understanding the importance of infection control and maintaining sterility throughout the procedure was a key learning outcome for me.
Additionally, I observed and understood the stages of implant placement, including flap elevation, osteotomy preparation, implant insertion, and suturing.
This experience enhanced my knowledge of surgical procedures, strengthened my infection control practices, improved my teamwork and communication skills, and increased my confidence in assisting during advanced dental surgeries.
